2012 13U ECNL Boys Program Update

2012 13U ECNL Boys Program
2024-2025 Season

For the 2024-2025 season, Charlotte Soccer Academy will implement a program change that will allow the club to offer the highest level of ECNL competition to 2012 boys players in both the South and North sections through our ECNL National Academy and ECNL National programs.

  • The Charlotte SA National Academy ECNL Boys 2012 team in our ECNL National Academy program will continue to operate out of the South location with all training at the club’s OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville.
  • The Charlotte SA ECNL National Boys 2012 team in our ECNL National program will primarily operate out of the North/Huntersville locations with two of the three practice sessions each week held at either North Meck Park, West Cabarrus High School or Cox Mill High School and the third session at the club’s OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville.
  • Both programs’ home games will continue to be played at the club’s headquarters, the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville, throughout the season.

As CSA has continued to expand and evolve in response to the population changes throughout the Charlotte metropolitan area, we have developed highly competitive player pools in all our sections. The 2012 boys age group is one of strongest the club has seen in several years with the highest-level players distributed across the north and south regions. The club will maximize the opportunity for all qualified 2012 CSA players to participate in the ECNL program by providing training sites for the team in both the North and South sections, improving the accessibility for more players.

The realignment of the training sites for the 2012 ECNL National program boys’ team will broaden the reach of the program and provide CSA an additional opportunity to increase player retention and attract new players.

Session Schedule

  • The 2012 ECNL National Academy program team will continue to train four times a week at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.
  • The 2012 ECNL National program team will continue to train three times a week, twice at one of the North/Huntersville locations listed above and once at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.

Why train once a week in the south?

It is important that this team trains at least once a week at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex as their home games will all operate out of this location. This allows the players to be familiar and comfortable with their home fields for game days. The extended training session at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex will incorporate a sports performance component with Architech Sports. Training at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex also gives the team an opportunity to engage with the 2012 ECNL National Academy team to create more club continuity within the ECNL National Academy and ECNL National programs.

Coaching Staff

  • Steve Gummer will remain as the ECNL National Academy Boys Director with Ethan Kilby coaching the 2012 ECNL National Academy team.
  • Phil Hindson will remain as the ECNL National Boys Director with Josh Gregory coaching the 2012 ECNL National team.

2024-2025 Selection Process

  • All current CSA players participating in our 2012 Pre-ECNL, Roma, Elite and King level teams will be given a sign in code to attend the CSA player assessment (tryout) session for the ECNL Programs.
  • Tryouts for the 2012/13U ECNL National team will be held in the North locations.
    • April 24th at 5:15pm – 6:45pm at Striker Park
    • April 30th at 5:45pm – 7:15pm at North Meck Park
    • May 1st at 5:45pm – 7:15pm at Frank Liske Park
  • Tryouts for the 2012/13U ECNL National Academy team will be held at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville.
    • Tuesday, April 23 at 6:15 PM – 7:30 PM
    • Wednesday, May 1 at 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM
    • Thursday, May 2 at 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM
  • Additional players within CSA not currently playing within the club’s highest teams interested in the ECNL assessments are advised to reach out to their respective DOC to discuss this opportunity and if their current coaching staff feel they have the ability to be a consideration for the ECNL programs, they will be given an invite code to register as these tryouts are by invitation only.
  • CSA will continue to operate two ECNL Regional League programs within CSA’s programming with the ECNL Regional League Blue teams for our South location players and the ECNL Regional League White teams for our North/Huntersville location players.
  • Players not currently registered with CSA must reach out to Coach Steve Gummer (ECNL National Academy) sgummer@charlottesocceracademy.com or Coach Phil Hindson (ECNL National) phindson@charlottesocceracademy.com with a soccer resume prior to registering.

CSA Expands to Indian Trail

CSA is excited to announce Indian Trail as a new location for the competitive program in 2024-2025! CSA Indian Trail will operate out of the Strikers Soccer Center in Indian Trail. The program will offer competitive soccer for boys and girls ages 8U-12U, with practices predominantly being held at Strikers Soccer Center. Home games will be played at local fields. The program will offer the same curriculum, advanced training and coaching for all teams and players as all other sections within CSA. Caleb Pamperin, 07 CSA North/Hville King: This is a big year for Caleb and his continued development. He deserves recognition. Caleb is a very good technical player that should have the chance to play at the next level. He has an outstanding work ethic and drive to keep developing his game. As a coach, he is a joy to work with and a fantastic teammate with his unselfish play.

Eva Swarts, 11 Charlotte SA DPL: Eva has been a key player for 2011 Charlotte Soccer Academy DPL, contributing to their 3-0 record in DPL league play and 3-1 record in tournament play in the last month. Her impressive goal-scoring, assists and tireless energy have earned her the admiration of her teammates. Eva is known for giving her all in every aspect of the game.

Jack Lilly, 09 Charlotte SA National ECNL: Jack has been outstanding this season. His leadership skills, mentality and overall play have been of a very consistent standard. Jack has high potential to develop further as a player.

Cailin Whitlock, 11 Charlotte SA National ECNL: Cailin has been instrumental in the midfield in the team’s run of good form who look to be destined to qualify for the ECNL Playoffs in Seattle, WA in late June. Cesar Ramirez, 2008 Charlotte SA National Academy ECNL: Cesar has come alive during the last month with some great performances and has scored goals in key games to advance the team to some very positive performances and wins. Cesar is a technically gifted player and has really improved during the season. His eagerness to make runs in behind the opponents back line has made him a player very hard to contain.

Natalia Bonanno, 2010 Charlotte SA White RL G: Tally has really pushed herself to be the best player she can be and is a true team player. Leading the team as a forward with her relentless work rate and her pressure on the opposing team. She has scored some great goals for us and helped the team reach the finals of Jefferson Cup. Tally is one of the hardest working players in the age group and she leads by example!

Gunnar Galarza, 2012 CSA Charlotte Blue: Gunnar was selected as Player of the Month for his dedication and hard work as a goalkeeper. He started the season wanting to play both the field and keeper and he decided early in the season that he liked playing keeper and that he wanted to focus his efforts there. Gunnar has made tremendous improvement in his keeping skills. He has been amazing this year, keep our team in the game by all of his saves and leadership from the back. He as been a huge assent for our team and for CSA. Great job Gunnar, keep up the hard work!

Shradha Kathirvel, 2009 CSA Elite 64 G
: Shradha scored 3 goals for the team at the NL PRO Event in Tampa, Florida. She was vital in the team advancing to USYS Nationals in July.

Virginia Prince

Olivia Vaden

13 Palisades King G

Noah Hufnagel

10 ECNL RL Blue

John Lamb

07 ECNL RL White

Virginia Prince, 2012 CSA Charlotte Roma Elite 1 G: Since transitioning from 2012 CSA CLT Roma Elite 2 to 2012 CSA CLT 1, Ginny has been a force in the goal. Her impact between the posts has been immediate and so far this season her team is undefeated. The coaching staff and I are extremely excited about her future!

Olivia Vaden, 2013 CSA Palisades King G: Livie has a positive attitude and made awesome contributions in our Asheville tournament and practice. Livie generally plays goalie for our team but she had to play in the field during the tournament. In the first game, she scored enabling us to win. She had a great weekend playing multiple positions then we went to penalty kicks in the championship game and she saved two goals allowing us to win out first tournament as a team. She comes to every practice with a positive attitude and she has a hard work ethic. She always has a smile on her face.

Noah Hufnagel, 2010 ECNL RL Blue: Noah has been consistently performing at a high level this season and has worked hard to improve every week as well as being one of my leaders on the team, helping others to reach the standards we strive for. Great job! Keep it going.

John Lamb, 2007 ECNL RL White: John is coming off of a stellar weekend in Florida at the ECNL showcase where he helped lead his team to an undefeated event with 4 goals and several assists. John also scored a spectacular bicycle kick for a game-winning goal! He has continued his exploits in front of goal into the season, helping lead his team to a start near the top of the table.
