Charlotte Soccer Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Steven James as the club’s new Boys Director of Coaching (DOC) for our Uptown Program.

With multiple years of coaching experience and a proven track record in player development, James brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion to the role. He has previously served in leadership and coaching roles at UNC-Greensboro, Catawba College, ODP Regional team and Carolina Core FC NPL staff coach.

“We are thrilled to welcome Steven James to our club,” said Executive Director Brad Wylde. “His experience and dedication to developing players and coaches align perfectly with our mission to foster excellence, character, and growth on and off the field.”  As Director of Coaching, Steven will oversee the Uptown youth development pathway, support and mentor the coaching staff, and work closely with families to ensure a positive, competitive, and inclusive soccer environment for all players.

Steven James added, “Starting my new role as Director of Coaching with Charlotte Soccer Academy fills me with a deep sense of excitement and responsibility. This opportunity allows me to bring my experience and passion to a community that values excellence both on and off the field. I’m especially looking forward to collaborating with the coaching staff, supporting player growth at all levels, and helping shape a positive, unified culture throughout the academy”.
